LoveCanton.com is up and running!

LoveCanton.com

“I love Canton.  Do you Love Canton?”

“Sure.  I love Canton.”

“Cool.  Let’s make a website to organize some Canton-Lovin’.”

“Sweet.  I’m in.  Can you pass the chips and salsa?”

That’s how great ideas are born.  People getting together, throwing thoughts at each other, then taking one of those thoughts and running with it.  LoveCanton.com was just that.  Some people saw a need to connect local organizations with others who had the desire to serve in their community, and LoveCanton was the product of that conversation.  All that they needed was a place to gather and distribute their information, and the web was the perfect place to do that.  So, they called their trusty friends at Shout It Louder, and four days later, LoveCanton.com arrives.  The website will house event calendars, information about the organizations involved and a learning section full of teachings and educational resources.  Although it was a crazy four days, we had a blast working on this project, and we are excited to be a part of serving the Canton community.

Get a CMS…. please

May 5th, 2008 by Ryan Solida

Trust me on this one.  I don’t care who you end up doing your site with (well, I’d rather you end up with us, but that’s besides the point) but please, please, please do yourself a huge favor and make sure your site creator is giving you a content management system (CMS).  Any good site designer/programmer should at least give you the ability to make simple text changes or very content specific changes to pages on your site.  We’ve seen too many people get left in the dust when their site design company closed up once their project was done, never to return again.  As the site OWNER, you entirely reserve the right to make changes to YOUR site quickly and easily.

Of course we will always recommend our own CMS, The Guts, over any other alternative but here are a few good open source options if you’re out there looking. Trust us on this though: If you’re not a programmer, you’re better off to let someone who knows what they are doing install any of these for you.

Malone Gear Launch

May 2nd, 2008 by Ryan Solida

We have officially launched MaloneGear.com, an online store for Malone College apparel.  This is our first functioning cart (though CC transaction still to come on this project) from our home grown shopping cart system.  We will be revealing our new fancy shmancy cart system to all of the world sooner than later.  It goes without saying that a cart can do wonders for your business, taking your customer base from just those who walk into your physical location to all of the people who visit your website.  If you’re interested in a custom shopping cart for your site, let us know.
